Looking for a practice with the freedom to manage you own cases to an advanced level? Join our supportive, motivated, and talented team. We are a fiercely independent practice in South Oxfordshire seeing a wide variety of cases. We have a range group of certificate holders so we can support you in working cases up to a high level (including orthopaedics), and we are keen to support further development for all of our team.

The full time role is based around a 4-day week working week, with a 1 in 4 weekends.  OOH dependent on experience. Give us a call for an informal chat. We’d love you to come and meet the team!

This role is based at one of our hospital practices working a 4-day week (or 5 shorter days), 1 in 4 weekends (1 day only), with no OOH commitment.

We have an exciting vacancy for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team, providing care to our patients and assisting the veterinary team in all aspects of nursing care.

Larkmead is an independent busy first-opinion mixed practice based in South Oxfordshire.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, hardworking, kind, and compassionate. You should be able to work well as part of a team and individually and keen to provide a great service to all of our patients and clients.

As an expanding practice, we are developing a career pathway for our nursing team and welcome applications from nurses of all levels, keen to join our supportive environment. There are plenty of opportunities available to expand your experience and skills, working with our veterinary team and directly with our clients, supporting them with animal care through our nurse clinics.

We are a training practice with a great team of students so a clinical coach qualification would be an advantage but not essential as training can be provided. We support and encourage CPD and areas of interest, including opportunities for moving into leadership roles within the team.

The role is full time, 40 hours per week (including some nights and weekends on a rota basis with time off in lieu). Part-time may be considered.

A full driving licence is essential to work across all of our practices.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To provide care and treatment for all patients under clinical supervision
  • Assisting experienced vets in surgery including orthopaedics
  • Assisting vets with the medical care of in-patients to a high standard
  • To provide support and training to our student nurses
  • Opportunity to engage with nurse clinics and puppy parties for our clients.
  • To ensure high standard of cleanliness in the clinical care areas
